S. Chetan Singh ji graduate from Mahindra College, Patiala; there after he joined Govt. Law College, Lahore for LLB, in 1940, he started his practice as a lawyer in Mansa after passing his LLB.HE was elected president of bar association many times. He is remembered as founder president of Gandhi Higher Secondary School, Mansa . He joined R.S.S in order to serve the society. As devoted. R.S.S worker he become ‘SANGH CHALAK’ of Bathinda district. Later he was elected president of PEPSU JANSANGH ORGANIZATION. But he preferred social service to politics as a mission of his life. He was selfless and sincere to his mission. He served all who were in need without any consideration of high or low, poor or rich or caste – difference. He was loved by all even those who were his ideologically opponent. They to loved and praised him for his devotion to social service. His contribution towards education was immense, he used together poor &  downtrodden children from his locality & teach them by sparing time from his domestic, social, political & legal activities.

As a fall out of assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on 30th January, 1948 the Govt. imposed ban on R.S.S. but Sardar ji carried on the social activities of R.R.S. along with other members of Sangh diligently, as a result he was put behind the bars, where he was tortured badly. His physical & mental torture in jail affected adversely on his health. Consequently, at the early age of 45 he left this mortal world on 15th April, 1960 for his heavenly abode. But his name is immortal. S. Chetan Singh Sarvhitkari Sr. Sec. School of Mansa is testimony of his immortal deeds.
